Poland // Feliks Łukasiewicz [Accepted] Empty

The Character

Name: Feliks Łukasiewicz
Nation: Republic of Poland (Rzeczpospolita Polska)
Gender: Male
Age: 19

Appearance:
Poland // Feliks Łukasiewicz [Accepted] Poland

Poland is not very tall, or particularly imposing. In fact, if regarded comparatively it’s clear that he’s probably one of the least hefty male nations – and he doesn’t mind, since it helps him fit into the skirts he loves so well. His diminutive size, however, does not serve as a handicap; Feliks moves with a great deal of confidence and finesse, which tends to leave a more lasting impression than ‘small’.

His hair is a very fine blonde and is well kept, trimmed in a neat line that reaches just below his chin, which is pulled back only on the rarest of occasions.

Feliks’ eyes are a very vivid shade of green, and their impressive size is one of his more feminine attributes. They tend to be very expressive, even when he’s being difficult.

His military uniform is standard dress, with or without his personal addition of the matching capelet. When appropriate, Feliks chooses to wear a more casual outfit consisting of brown pants, a dress shirt, a vest, and a ribbon as a cravat. On occasion he my also be found sporting ladies’ vestments (skirts in particular) and the traditional outfits of his people.

Personality:

Trusting a first impression would be a terrible mistake with Feliks.

Initially, the little nation is guarded, and even a bit belligerent at times, but as he adjusts to the company at hand this behavior will diminish – only to be replaced by a number of equally irritating qualities.

Perhaps his role during the Middle Ages is to blame, or perhaps it is the product of the trouble he has had with his neighbors, but Poland has a very strong sense of self (and self importance). He’s stubborn. Obsessive. Opinionated. Aggressive.

It can be tough to get a word in edgewise, and disagreeing with him on any topic is next to hopeless; his opinion is the highest truth. Not unlike a number of other nations, Feliks has difficulty ‘reading the atmosphere’, and even at his age has retained a certain level of naivety. True, the smarter nations have not found it difficult to manipulate him in the past, but no hole seems to be deep enough to hold the rising phoenix that is the Republic of Poland, or his long enduring spirit.

No matter how terrible things are, they never are all bad when one is in step with Feliks. Sure, he tends to ignore what other people tell him – he’s an absolute expert at brushing off advice, and ignoring serious situations – but his heart is in the right place. His enthusiasm is endearing, and behind his ditzy façade, he really does care; it’s just that expressing his emotions (short of happy and angry) is difficult for him after years of completely disregarding them. In the company of those he knows, Poland is affectionate, and there is even an element of stoicism to his world, laughing off the worst situations and ignoring anything that does not agree with him. It’s a coping mechanism, and an effective one at that.

Strengths:
» Try to crush his morale. Really, try it.
» Survival: he’s been partitioned, what, three times, or something?
» Feliks is a strong, determined country; when something he puts value in is, like, seriously threatened. He’ll totally make Warsaw your capital, or something.
» He’s, uhm, a bit cleverer than he lets on.

Weaknesses:
» He responds poorly to threats – or totally doesn’t respond at all!
» Feliks isn’t very good at expressing his emotions, or, like, at communication in general – and then he’s got this really great way of talking, but, like, somehow it seems to get on people’s nerves.
» It can take a lot to get him to trust, but when he finally does, he’ll get really, really attached. This in itself can be absolutely painful, but it has proved its potential to be used against him.
» He’s sorta self-centered, and immature.

Starting location: Caught in a revolving door just off the main road.

Sample RP post:

Okay, this was getting, like, totally annoying.
The blonde gave the revolving door yet another shove, jamming his shoulder harshly against the thick panel of glass and throwing all his weight behind the action. The hidden locking mechanism ground against the metal frame and groaned beneath Feliks’ weight, but did not budge. A minute passed, then two, but the door held, and the muscles of his shoulder and his legs had begun to quiver and ache. As he considered how to go about redoubling his efforts (unfortunately, there was neither space for nor a source from which he might procure a pony) his boots lost their hold on the over-polished linoleum floor and his legs slipped out from under him and he pitched forward, and the world went funny for a moment as his head cracked hard against the ground.

“Guh, seriously?” The world didn’t look quite like it should have when he stood up, but he couldn’t quite tell what was wrong with it, besides that the air suddenly seemed a bit fresher. It was nice, feeling the air rush back into his empty lungs. With a little puff of breath, the nation lifted himself onto his elbows, his knees, and then, finally, to his feet. He felt a little woozy, standing, but the feeling ebbed away as he took a step back, and he noticed, into the street.

The door, it seemed, had turned – only not in the direction he had wanted it to. Reaching forward, he shoved at it with a perfectly manicured hand. Again, it refused to yield.

Huh. Um. Well, then… One more push, and nothing. Feliks crossed his arms and turned to face the empty street.

Other Important Information:
Duh! Feliks is really awesome friends with Lithuania, to the point of calling him Liet.

Despite their rather strained history, Felicks considers Germany, Pussia, and Austria tolerable. He does not like Russia, though – like, not at all – and is perhaps the only nation that is not afraid of him.

The Player

Name: Nea
Timezone: Eastern.
MSN/AIM: Luminestra
About yourself: Hallo there! <3
I’m a happy young lady, entering college this august. I love books, languages, cultures, sandwiches, and horror. Psychology is fun, too. And Hetalia, and a few other series (Pandora Hearts, Kuroshitsuji, ect.)
Did you read the rules?:
Yeppers! Oh gosh, something like plum or burgundy or steel blue or black, white, or maybe grey. Or brown. I don’t have a favorite, really.

I’m a newbie to Hetalia roleplay, but not roleplay in general. X3
